Iron Man 2 figures (pics too!)

So for me personally I was really looking forward to the release of the Iron Man 2 figures, and could not wait to pick up some varied figs of choice from this line!

That time has come, and over this past weekend I was able to get the Mark II figure (movie series), and early this morning around 6:30 I was able to pick up 3 more. I found a War Machine (comic series), and actually picked up an extra in case someone needed one. The other figure I got was for our son as a surprise, and it was the Mark VI figure with the "power-up glow".

I was excited for him to get it, and he was really happy when he did! So once it was opened up...it was time to take a few pics to share with everyone.

So here they are (note the resolution is not up to par compared to what I usually can do. Taking pics of a glowing fig is tougher than it looks!):



The fig has some limited articulation, and mainly it's in his torso, which is due to the wiring of the "glowing repulsor energy". This is understandable, and I am able to accept it because the figure glows!

Other than that he has wrist, ankle, knee, elbow etc, etc. articulation. His head can be pressed to reveal the glow!

In my opinion this figure is worth the chance...so give it a shot!

That's nice. I'll probably pick that up if I can find it. Not starting my Ironman collection until I find S. Jackson and both War Machines.

Now that is what I am talking about! Thanks for the pics, you just sold me on it.....is hasbro giving you compensation for sales of this figure? If not, they should! I will be doing a bit of custom work when I get it though.....giving it more of an opaque paint job on the torso so the light only shines through the openings in the panels of the armor. And of course the chestpiece. As it stands....looks like the torso lights up a bit too much. But kudos to hasbro for a great job on this one. Usually they skimp the articulation when it comes to a figure like this. Understandable in the torso, but they didnt leave out anything else!

Bought Crimson Dynamo today. He's pretty cool, but mine came with many loose joints though.

Can't for these to see release here in Taiwan. Knowing my luck (and from past experience with the first IM movie), the toys stores won't release any toys until the movie is out. I'm looking forward to getting Mk VI, WM and Whiplash in the 3 3/4 line and will more than likely get the 6" Mk VI, too.

So, the IM2 figures finally were realesed here in Taiwan, yay! I snagged myself the 3 3/4 Mk VI armour to test the waters. I've never been a fan of this scale of figures and was horribly put off it even more with those atrocious Indiana Jones figures from KotCS. Anyway, I was really surprised by the articulation in this guy. It has loads of it! The sheer number of joints blew me away. BUT there is one area that really ticks me off: the hips. Those horrid, horrid hips. Why, oh why, must Hasbro continue to use that atrocious hip design? It destroys all the movement in the legs.

Aside from the hips (grrrrrr), I really like this figure. Sure, it's not perfect, and I kind of regret passing on the larger 6" Mk VI (those hands...oh those delicious, gorgeous multiple hands...why did I pass????), but still, as a display piece, this isn't too bad.

I got a huge kick out of the armour cards, too. I'll probably end up going back next weekend or so to pick up the Comic version War Machine, so Iron Man doesn't feel so lonely.

...or I'll cave and get the 6" Mk VI and just paint over the stupid silver bits...which will necessitate getting the 6" War Machine...yeah, the wife'll be thrilled with that...

I have bought a few of the IM2 figs. I like that they released some of the characters from the first movie in the 3 3/4" (4") scale, like Mark 1, Mark 2, etc. I really like the War Machine, and have a small army (5) of those. I think I'll add the pic to my sig like I did on the Hisstank because it looks kinda cool. I have bought about all the IM2 figs I want for now, but if they continue to put some others out, maybe I'll get a few more.
